Cuban, Polish, and Mine

Plantains are familiar to me in the Cuban context. The wish to relive the tastes of my childhood is often not enough, though. I cook them every so often, always combining the taste I know, with the taste I want.

Although non-existent in my childhood, I like the wide array of taste in meats. Today it was time for a Polish sausage.

Most of the meals I prepare are born from an idea of what I wish to see and taste. Suddenly the idea of a certain combination came to mind, and I began mentally to compose plantains, sausage, and figs. The figs were to be condensed and sweet. The call was for a vodka reduction with spices, and figs.

Nothing to complain about!
