to intentionally forget

As I mentioned not long ago, during the summer of 2023, I noticed a couple of beetroots on the counter. They were hidden from clear sight, thus it is safe to say that I forgot them, or that they went (or stayed) unnoticed for some time. It is for me impossible to know how long they had been there, therefore I can refer to them in their dry state only from the time I “found” them. Perhaps a laboratory would be able to tell me with some accuracy, how long it took them to reach that certain dry state.

No need.

Today I bought fresh ones, and I intend to forget them which for some periods of time I certainly will. But now I will have a clear reference as to the date in which they were “left” to dry. In one or two years we shall see how they look. The conditions under which they will be drying, will, of course, be very different, and inconsistent. Though for periods forgotten, these will be documented much more often. They, along with the ones from 2023, will be traveling the globe with me.
